Match 12B TO @ San Vicente Loss 8-10

Surprisingly, it was a pleasant day in Ramona, not the scorcher I anticipated, with a nice breeze and temps in the 80’s. Surprisingly also, the course was in the best condition I have experienced in the last several years. And the final surprise was that the mighty Team Blue couldn’t win with all these favorable conditions in our favor. The San Vicente team was ripe for the taking but we couldn’t get it done.

The only drama I heard (played in) and can share with you was team C - Bob Hogan and Dave Mulgrew. One the front nine we were down all match and needed 2 points on the ninth hole to win by one  and we did it, securing our two points. On the second nine we were down by 5 and whittled away at their lead and ended up winning by 1 (again!) and securing the two points and the overall 6 points.

Team two (Steve Tugwell and Jim Auten) lost the front nine but fought back and got two points on the back nine.

Only four more matches this season…let’s try and finish strong!
