Gents
Strange day at Miramar. Unfortunately my wife got very sick at 4:30 am Wednesday so I couldn't go to the Miramar match and it was too late to get a replacement.(Miramar needs a list of players 24 hrs ahead to get on the base). Soooooo...the rule says when a team is a player short ,3 of the 6 points are already conceded to the opponent. That leaves 3 points available. The solo guy (Tom Stamos) plays the first 9 holes against the low handicapper of his opponents and the second 9 against the higher handicap. 1 point for the front, one point for the back and 1 point over all. So if Tom beats both guys he gets 3 points and that gives the TO team 3 points and the opponent already has the conceded 3 points.(now you know the Man Short Rule).
Tom went to war and beat the first guy for a point, lost to the other guy but tied the over all 18 (split 1 point) for 1 1/2 points. So Miramar 4 1/2 and TO 1 1/2 .
The "A" team was represented by a nice gross 80/net 71 by our own Bob Stuckey (never played the course before), but the weight of carrying Josh Senter was too much to bear. "A" team zero points.
The "B" team had to content with a net 69 by a Miramar player, and they were also not able to get a point. "B" team zero points.
So the final was Miramar 16 1/2 and TO 1 1/2. eeek!!!!
Hey!! ...the season is early and goes til October ...we will come back when the weathers nicer.
Go Blue!
